President Profile

Rtn. Raelene Shea (PHF)
Raelene was born and lived most of her life in western Canada.
She received a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy from University of Alberta Canada, and later a Masters of Science in Health Services Administration from the University of Colorado, USA.
Until her retirement in 2007, she held the position of Director of Clinical and Support Services – Interior Health Authority, British Colombia, and Canada.
Raelene joined the Rotary Club of Kamloops Daybreak, Kamloops Canada in 2002, and in 2006 travelled to Sri Lanka as a post-tsunami volunteer. At this time she met members of the Rotary Club of Hambantota, and then led her Kamloops Club in a Matching Grant project with the Hambantota Club. 
The Kamloops Daybreak Club awarded her a Paul Harris Fellow in recognition of her international service in Sri Lanka, Cambodia, and Peru in 2008.
 After many volunteer trips to Sri Lanka with both Rotary and Developing World Connections, Raelene moved here in Nov 2011, and with her new Sri Lankan friends and business associates, opened Moonstone Villas in Tangalle, where she is Managing Director.

In her spare time she continues to co-ordinate volunteer groups from Canada doing project work around Tangalle, Tsunami-Animal People Alliance Animal Clinics, and student therapists from University of British Columbia gaining experience at Navajeevana. She loves painting, gardening, and pets.
